Arnold Hill Academy
Arnold Hill Academy, part of the Trent Academies group is a mixed secondary school and sixth form and 6th form educating 1700 pupils. It is split into two sites and with over 100 teachers, it is one of the largest comprehensive schools in Nottinghamshire, East Midlands.
Having recently gone through an extensive 14 million new build project program, Arnold Hill Academy boasts outdoor sports facilities including 2 football pitches, 2 rugby pitches and a 300m grass running track the new building show cases the latest state-of the-art “super block” design – a 3-storey square building with a 4-court indoor sports hall and 380-person capacity theatre forming its centre and classrooms wrapped around.
The cutting edge building is being described as the first of a generation and the government are now considering making it the recommended design for all new school building projects.
In sourcing the correct solution Arnold Hill consulted with the reputable, Nottingham local, NSI Gold installer Mercury Fire & Security about providing a solution that met the needs and requirements of a thriving school. The project consisted of four QVIS 32 channel NVR’s with up to 32TB of storage and in excess of 120 cameras, installing a mixture of 3MP and 4MP cameras being located around the site. The system was specified to help provide security for the new building, pupils and staff. The system is being monitored and managed centrally via QVIS comprehensive CMS providing seamless coverage of all cameras whilst allowing ongoing scalability of the solution.
